The Miller Group (The Robert E. Miller Insurance Agency) was founded by Bob Miller in 1961. After more than 60 years in business, it is one of the oldest and most successful family-owned companies in Kansas City, as well as one of the largest independent insurance agencies in the Midwest.
The late Bob Miller didn’t just start a business, he founded a community. He provided the foundation for us to become an insurance broker in Kansas City and beyond with a strong set of values and business ethics.

It started with family. Robert E. Miller returned from the Korean War and needed to support his wife and children. With his ever-present values and ethics, he began selling insurance and surety bonds to construction companies.
The number one value of our founder Bob Miller was placing God, family and community before all else. These values created a culture of caring and civic engagement. Every year, The Miller Group donates a minimum of 10% of its profits, performs service projects and so much more.
